Truer words have never been spoken.
“Suffering comes from unreality.” I mean, can the truth get any more real?
Think about it, every time that you have even just been unhappy, I promise you, it was not because of what was happening at that moment. It was probably from thinking about something that happened in the past, or from you thinking about the future. Maybe you had gotten fired a week ago, maybe you were going through a breakup, maybe someone you know just died. Maybe you’re thinking about how you’re going to pay next months bills, maybe you’re thinking about where you’re going to move too, maybe you’re thinking about who you’re going to get married too.
Whatever you are upset about at this moment, probably isn’t reality.
Now, I am not telling you that you can’t be unhappy at all. I’m not telling you that you cannot grieve. I’m not telling you to completely ignore your feelings. Never ignore your feelings. But realize that your emotions are not reality. You aren’t supposed to “live” in your emotions.
For instance, something bad happens to you right now. Oh no! That sucks! I’m so sad, cry cry cry. Feel your emotions. Get as sad, hurt, or angry, as you can get. But once you get to that climax. Stop. That’s it. Don’t stay stuck in that feeling. After you’ve reached that moment, get happy!
Basically. live in the moment. Don’t live in unreality. The past and the future, is not reality. Live for RIGHT NOW.
Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
